The Aluminum Forest was advised that a blog was a burdensome commitment. Quite the contrary! The biggest hurdle is deciding which fantastic thing in The Aluminum Universe to write about. We covered The Genesis, then The Growth, so let’s round out that theme with What’s Sprouting: Trees, Trees, and Tees!
The end of the Christmas season meant major spring cleaning for The Aluminum Forest. Our inventory needed an update. Our storage system was due for an overhaul. 2 professional photo shoots were squeezed in. Progress is being made, and big ideas are flowing! The after-season hustle left little time for site expansion, but we are back in the swing of it, Darlings!
New to the site so far this year are 2 new tree brands: Arandell Products and Aluminum Hardwares, Inc. Arandell had been gathering dust since the site launch, having just not quite made it in. AHI was on the far back burner but went to the head of the line after hearing from a Forest Friend!
Aluminum Hardwares, Inc. is one of those under-the-radar brands. Super rare. Recently uncovered documentation shows that AHI was a huge manufacturer and distributor in the aluminum boon of mid-century American industrialism. Ads show they produced colored trees as tall as 10 feet! So where are all the trees? The Aluminum Forest would love to know! In fact, The Aluminum Forest has no example in inventory, which is the main reason it was moved to the back of the lineup.
Enter Forest Friend, Michael Ficken of Iowa. Social media connected us, and he generously offered documentary photos of his newly purchased Northern Lights aluminum tree by AHI. An enthusiastic contribution such as this is taken with great earnest. Our gratitude launched us right into building a page to go with Michael’s photos! Of particular intrigue is that there are trees by AHI of which The Aluminum Forest was completely unaware. The notion that they could be out there is nothing short of thrilling! A 10-foot-tall tree in gold? In blue? The heart flutters.
